POWDER COATING

We offer a wide range of powder coatings from many top-of-the-line manufacturers such as Sherwin Williams, Tiger, Cardinal, PPG Coating and Dupont.

Epoxy Polyester Powder Coatings
Epoxy Polyester Powder Coatings are ideal for general indoor use and other applications where high UV stability is not required. Zinc rich epoxy coatings are also available as primer coats on phospated or blast cleaned steel parts and when combined with a polyester top coat offer enhanced resistance to weathering and corrosion.

Polyester Powder Coatings
Polyester powder coatings are ideal for external use where UV stability and weather resistance is required. Typical examples include metal products for automotive, trim, fencing, garden furniture and motorcycles. Powder is available in a wide range of colors in gloss, satin, matte, metallic and textured effects.

Epoxy Powder Coatings
Epoxy Powder Coatings are ideal for industrial and engineering applications and have excellent chemical resistance and mechanical properties although they are susceptible to color breakdown when exposed to ultra violet rays.

ANODIZING

AEI Fabrication offers both Type II and III Anodization for various grades of aluminum.

Anodize (Type II Sulfuric Acid)

Anodizing aluminum improves and enhances:

  • Wear Resistance
  • Lubricity
  • Dielectric Properties
  • Heat Dissipation
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Bonding
  • Aesthetics

Hard Anodize (TYPE III Sulfuric Acid)

Aluminum Hard Anodize is similar to TYPE II anodize. During the anodizing process, an anodic film is formed by converting the surface into aluminum oxide. The aluminum oxide is uniform, denser and much harder than natural oxidation. Benefits of Hard Coat Anodized Aluminum are:

  • Corrosion resistance
  • Aesthetics
  • Dielectric properties
  • Improve lubrication
  • Increase wear resistance
  • Increased abrasion resistance
  • Lightweight
  • Flame resistance

Hard Anodize Coating will affect the final dimensions of your product. 50-percent of the anodize coating penetrates into the surface of the metal and 50-percent of the coating builds up on the metal surface. The final dimension is determined by the thickness of the coating. The typical thickness that is required for hard coat anodizing is .002 and controlled with great accuracy. In hard coat anodizing, if aluminum not dyed (Class 1), the color of aluminum will change depending on alloy and thickness of the coat. If dyed (Class 2), black is the color most commonly used. Other colors also available.

SILK SCREENING

Silk screen is an excellent means to brand your product with your customized logo or label parts for identification and information with enamel, epoxy, lacquer, plastisol or vinyl inks. Silk screen can be printed on metal anodized, bare, painted and plated.

PLATING
AEI Fabrication offers the following plating services:
  • Zinc Phosphate Coating
  • Passivation and Black Oxide Coating
  • Nickel Plating
  • Cadmium Plating
  • Clear Cadmium Plating
  • Chrome Plating
